For those of you that don't think that Tiger is an athlete, but just a golfer, take a look at him. He is more lean and in shape than most athletes in other sports. I know that a fat man can be good on the PGA, but david well is a fat piece of **** and he is pitching so don't hold it against him that he is a golfer. Also tsbr 1963 if you don't think that tiger is strong or is mentally tough your nuts. I would say he's the most mentally tough athlete right now.

It is quite obvious that Tiger is the best golfer, but definately not the best athlete. Look at the golfers and compare them to players in other sports. In golf, they come in all kinds of age, shape, and form. In other sports, they pretty well have to be young, and in very good shape and strength to compete with others at a professional level. Tiger just has to swing a golf club, and doesn't have to do any running,,jumping,or come into physical contact with his competitors. Compare that to what guys like Michael Jordan,Wayne Gretzky,Jerry Rice, and others have had to do in their sport. So,yes,Tiger is probably the best golfer, but definately not the best athlete.

I think tiger is the best golfer to ever golf but I don't think he is the best athlete ever. He is definitely in the conversation but with all due respect to golfers, I think golf is more a sport of skill than it is a sport of athletic ability. In golf it doesn't matter how fast you run or how high you jump. You are essentially playing the course more than you are other players. I have a extreme amount of respect for golf but i don't think golfers are the best athletes. I think they are good athletes because the more difficult courses can be physically draining but I don't think you can compare a golfer to a all pro running back it's apples and oranges.

Tiger is an excellent athlete, but no golfer can ever be the best athlete ever. You don't need much conditioning to be on the PGA tour. Look at John Daly, Craig Stadler, Jack Nicklaus in his 20's.
These sports all demand good conditioning: track and field, lacrosse, basketball, soccer, swimming, hockey, most baseball players, some American football players, tennis players.

I don't know about the best athlete ever, because doesn't play all the different sports. You can't really compare a golfer to a football player or soccer player.
I do believe he is on the way to being the best golfer ever if/when he over takes Jack N.'s total PGA wins.

in case you have ever performed golfing, you already know that this isn't any longer in basic terms a walk in the park. you will possibly desire to do each little thing top, each swing. in case you may no longer concentration for approximately 4 hours, you're in trouble already. this is greater psychological than actual, yet continues to be actual. to attain under 70 continuously on the toughest courses in the international is an quite great feat. many people score in the 80s-100s on the same time as nonetheless no longer following the regulations thoroughly strictly like the expert excursion does. asserting that, I disagree that he's the suitable athlete in all of activities. on the same time as i'm constructive he ought to play nicely in countless activities because of the fact of his athleticism and concentration, there are different gamers with those and different substantial features. case in point, a centre returned in soccer (ecu) has to have super concentration, and be the quickest, maximum in advantageous condition, and ideal gamers on the pitch. An occasion of it somewhat is cutting-edge English soccer and Chelsea FC captain John Terry. he's often conscious and is quite rapid and robust. in case you observed the save he made off the objective line, you will see an occasion of that. And he's clearly have been given somewhat good management skills to bypass alongside with it. Now that's what I call a good all-around athlete!

To claim he is "the greatest golfer ever" is just stupid. He may be one day, but we will only know after he retires. Currently, he isn't walking away with every single major title..and he's a long way behind Nicklaus' number of titles...so right now he's just one of a few world class golfers.
And as for "athlete"....pur-lease! Don't insult real athletes like Micheal Johnson and Edwin Moses.

Hate to break it to you, but golfers aren't athletes. Golf is a game, not a sport. Is Tiger the best golfer ever? No doubt about it. Lance Armstrong is the best athlete ever.

That's ridiculous. Tiger Woods has the worst attitude, and what training do golfers have to do? I mean, I know golfing can put a strain on your body, but it's nothing like football or track or other sports where you have to be in top physical shape.
