It depends on what you mean by "world." The Earth will probably be swallowed by the sun when it enters its red giant phase in roughly five billion years. If the Earth moves into a more distant orbit due to mass loss by the sun, all of the planet's water will still boil away. The sun will persist for billions of years after that as a white dwarf surrounded by a planetary nebula. The Milky Way galaxy will cease to exist in its current form when it collides with the Andromeda galaxy in three to four billion years, but the individual stars will not be significantly impacted. The Universe has an unknown fate awaiting it, although numerous theories exist.

Guaranteed ending will be around 5 billion years from now, when the sun goes Red Giant on us. Possible endings before that occur when our galaxy collides with the Oort cloud in a few hundred million years, or if we were to get hit by a very large object (large enough to liquify the earth and the object, meaning the earth will sort of still be there, but effectively be gone in terms of life).

Also, random things like a supernova that happens extremely close, or a small black hole forming nearby could cause some trouble.

A few billion years from now, sorry, but can't give you a precise date like April 10, 21000034, the Sun will run out of hydrogen. It will collapse a bit and then fusion of helium will occur. When this happens it will turn into a red giant star. The surface will be somewhere just inside the current orbit of Mars. So, as it expands into its red giant phase, it will incinerate Mercury, Venus, and Earth along the way.

I Copied this from an encyclopeduia book and i guarantee you its true because its one of the most expensive books of encyclopedia.this is what the paragraph says:

When will the sun stop shining?

the sun will keep shining the way it does today for about another two billion years.then it will start to get brighter but cooler.in about six billion years when the sun starts to die it will get so big it will swallow up mercury and venus and turn earth a bubbling, boiling mass.

its true so i guess thats the end of the world.
