Once my friend said should i boot you ..i said yes ...i donno know what he did ...there were hundreds of windows started opening on my desktop...how did he do this ?

Booting is when massive instant messages by bots are sent to you all at once. Your screen will fill and you can not close them. It will automatically close Yahoo Messenger.
He has a certain program he either found or created. There are many sites to get these booters. Type Yahoo Booters in a search.

A "booter" is a program designed to shut down your yahoo messenger (kick you off line) Boot programs seem to be fixed daily or weekly, and those that use or make them have to constantly update or upgrade there progs..BTW booting is not tolerated in the chatrooms and you id can be deleted
1. To prevent booting, close your pm's to all except on your friends list.
2. Use another chat client in the yahoo rooms freecreed.com
3. I use a paid program to keep others from booting me, ytunnelpro.com

"booting" is referred to as knocking you offline so you have to restart your messenger. Some programs you have to completely restart your computer.
