Basically, I like rock music and my girl is into romantic R&B music. I hardly get to play my music when I'm around her and vice versa since we decided to play only music we both can handle which is a station in Miami of 80s and 90s music. I miss my music when we're in the car, but as soon as I try to put it on she puts it off. In a marriage, do you think this will eventually change? She's my fiance.

Dude, I'm never said I'll be breaking up with her because of music or if I have doubts. I just want to know if it could affect the marraige in any way. It's a pretty simply question.

No offense, but that is the stupidest thing I ever heard of. So what if you both like different music, you need to be able to put up with each other's music since you put up with one another. what is the big idea? Listen to each other's music and I am sure you will like some of the songs of each other's. I think that is pretty petty, so get over it. It's your car listen to your music and vice versa. As a matter of fact. make a schedule, like every other day, every other person's pick on music, same in the house - or simply get ipods ....problem solved!

Well, it would be really silly to break up because of the music issue! Alot worse things happen in other relationships. I think that you both need to accept that you have different tastes in music, simple as that. The reason a lot of couples breakup is because the partners loose their individuality, when thats what the attraction was initially. Theres no need to become one person. Anyway, my suggestion? Sit and talk it out, come to a compromise. Why dont you listen to her music sometimes and she listens to yours. Do a mix CD or something with both types of music on it, that could work. Anyway peace out!!

In case no one has told you yet, this is as good as it gets. Do not think it gets any better or easier when you are married.. Becuase it doesn't. Honestly kind of sounds like you have more to your story then you are putting out there, if you have doubts then DO NOT GET MARRIED. Seriously just think about if it what you want for a really long time... Because marriage is expensive, but divorce is even more expensive..

It can be a real pain but you just have to get used to it. I like rock, my wife likes bubble gum 80's pop. We can't agree in the car, so if we're on road trips it can be annoying. Compromise.

Oh, and don't get an intercom in your house. Now my wife plays her music throughout the entire house. Now THAT is annoying!

You guys need to learn how to compromise. Give her some of your CD's to listen to, and have her give you some of her CD's. Check it out and expand your horizons. Maybe later on you can surprise her with a romantic evening, and there'll be some of her music playing. She'll really like it.

No silly, marriage doesn't change people taste's, nor does it change their beliefs or attitudes. Try for a compromise - that's the best advice I can give you. If you can't live with this flaw, you might want to consider taking back the ring.

I think this is an immature question for immature adults that shouldn't be contemplating marriage if you can't learn to compromise on music. What happens when larger issues arise. *sigh*

If you've already decided to play music you both can enjoy, then where's the problem?

If you really wanted to hear your music, you wouldn't give a flying ****.
