A time clock works in hundred's. 100 would be 1 hour .50 would be 1/2 hour or 30 min. .75 would be 3/4 hour or 45 min. So between 60 and 99 would be 39 hundreds of an hour. From 07.68 to 17.31. you would have 9. 63 hours. So you punched in at .32 hundreds before 8am, and out at .31 hundreds after 5pm.

Your watch is broken, if it is showing 7:68 there is no 68 minute indicator on any watch I have ever owned. This includes military time. However if this timepiece was owned by a sports player or coach, sail or motorcycle racer where time is in 1/100s of a minute, you may have a multifunctional watch that nit only tells time, it is a stop watch too

the clock is very precise. it is measuring 1/100th of the hour.

17.31 - 7.68 = 9.63 Or just over 9 1/2 hours

Military time 1200 is noon- miday anything after that you add one, so
1300-100
1400-200
1500-300
1600-400
1700-500
and so on untill midnight the clock starts again with
0100=100 am

60-99 is who they reference OT- time out side of the regular time stations.

Or that is how we did it.
