i have had several myself and also taken care of numerous people that have had them. The doc. will have to tell you specifics cause it depends on what they use after the procedure. There is a 'anchor' type of material that seals the insertion site. It dissolves over a few months(internally). It speeds up the healing process and helps limit complications after wards. You will be limited on mobility the first day. after that you may be told not to do any heavy lifting for a few days or so. If you work and have it on a Fri. then you should be able to go back to work on Mon. unless the doc. tells you otherwise. It also depends on what the doc. does to you during the cath.(stent,etc.)Recovery is usually the same though.

I have never had one but I am a nurse and worked on a cardiac unit so I can tell you that this is an outpatient procedure. They will insert the catheter into an artery in your groin and push it up to your heart muscle and inject medicine so they can visualize the arteries that feed the heart. They will put a pressure dressing over the area when they are done and advise you not to do any heavy lifting and to watch it for bleeding. You may be in the hospital for 23-hour observation and then you can go home.

in basic terms approximately ninety 9% of cardiac cath ideas are completed with the help of making use of the groin! per circulation to one leg vs the different, the superb groin is the well-liked internet site through organic flow of the catheter into the guts vessels. going contained in direction of the left provides some problems through fact of ways the main valuable vessels on the left enter into the guts. hardly a brachial internet site desires for use. Radial web content are by no ability used as their small diameter does not help the sheath introducer used (catheter is then guided by this extra desirable diameter).
