Basically the way I trained my body was to do hamstring stretches and go into the splits and hold them 2-3 times a day. It took a few months, but they eventually came.

If you have access to a ballet barre, or if someone can put one in the basement for you, that is a good way to begin learning stretches. On a ballet bar, you control the exact amount of stretch you are imposing. When you try doing them on the floor to begin with, you are putting your body weight on some unstretched muscles and can do some serious (and painful) damage. The most important thing to remember is that little kids can drop into a split almost without thinking. But teens and adults have some strong muscles that need to be stretched very gently, so think gradual and don't push yourself too far. If it hurts, your body is telling you that's enough. Listen to it.

i got my splits down in about a month. first off i get in the lunge position and put my arms on each side of my front leg.i make sure my back leg is straight and i'm putting all my weight on my front leg. i hold that for about 30 seconds (it's hard but worth it). then i do that same thing with my other leg.
After that, i get into the plea(don't know if i spelled it right) position and bring out my left leg. u should be able to feel the stretch on the left thigh. hold it for 20 seconds. then i do the same thing except with my right leg. good luck!

well i'm a dancer but before i wasn't that flexible and what my friends told me to do was once u get out of the shower put on some underwear and do the splits. i think it's because when your body is relaxed u should stretch. give it a try for about a week or 2 and c what happens!!!

suitable way is to do an entire stretch work out three times an afternoon. be constructive to apply alot of isometric stretches (look up what the term skill i'm too dumb to describe it a million/2 besides as others can). Isometrics are rather lots seen to be the quickest thank you to attain a much wider variety of action, plus iso's construct potential in that variety of action besides that's what's extremely substantial.

Oh! I just got my split a few weeks ago, and the best streches i used are... sit down on the floor and strech your legs out against the wall as far as you can, and every day try to push yourself closer to the wall. You ca also lay down and put you legs up against the wall in like a v and try to bring them as far down to the ground as you can, and just lay like that for 10 min. everyday and you'll have your split in no time!

Jump from a ladder on to some sheet ice. While in the air do the splits as far as you can . Then let gravity do the rest :-)

if you want to learn to do the splits, than just get on the floor and get as far as you can than count to 20 slowly. your mustles will get used to it and eventually you'll get it down.
