How did you tell your husband you were pregnant? Did you tell in a special way? How did you tell the family?

From a guy's perspective, I'm going to ask that you give us a break. Often, a woman will suspect she's pregnant (e.g., she's late), but the guy might not know. So a woman thinks about it for a few days, takes a home pregnancy test, thinks about how to break the news, and then finally tells the guy.

The guy probably has no clue until you tell him. You have been thinking about it for days and he has not thought about it at all. So if he says or does something stupid when you tell him, give him a break. You might have been surprised when you first realized you might be pregnant, so imagine how much more surprised he is.

I rang my Mister at work because I couldn't wait until he got home to tell him the great news...He was shocked but excited and what makes it all the more funnier is that his boss was right beside him at the time and heard every single word! I told my mum and dad that I was pregnant on a casual visit, she was OMG'ing it all day and was not amused at the fact that she was going to be a Granny at the age of 48 but my Dad on the other hand was well chuffed and very excited, they then in turn told the rest of the family which saved me a job!I do think that deep down inside my Mum is really excited too because she keeps buying me stuff for the baby and can't stop talking about it!

The Father went with me to buy the test the day i missed my period. I got up at 5am took the test then came into the bedroom and told him it was + so he knew only moments after I knew. He did not trust the test thou and he took me to the doctors later that day 4 blood work which was also +. On mother's day I was about 9 weeks we bought his mom a card that said SURPRISE GRANDMA we wrote in it see you in December. This is her 1st grandchild my hubby is a only child. I have a 10 and 8 year old from another relationship my mom has 4 grand kids this will be her 5th I just called her and told her nothing special. The extended family just found out as time went on. His mom still has the card on top of the living room T.V.

My husband is a doctor and we were trying for a Baby, so when my period was late he also had his fingers (probably his arms and legs too!) crossed!

We come from two different countries and we live in a third so we are still in the process of calling close family members and we've emailed a few them.
But we waited until the pregnancy was in the last part of the first trimester to tell.

First time was ANTI Climactic!!!! Hubby was chopping ice off the roof, and deck, and I walked out and just told him, and then said we had to go to the pharmacy to get more pregnancy tests. (Yes, how long have we all known that you CAN'T get a false positive - I still took 8 tests the first time - insert your own laugh here!!)

This time was pretty much the same - I was going to do a whole surprise thing, and then hubby pops home for a tool that they needed at work...silly man saw the test!!!!!

BUT when telling my Mom - I actually waited a day, we had friends here from France, my Aunt and cousins were all here and we convinced my Mom that my cousin had a big announcement she wanted to make...

Some of my belly dance troupe was coming over for a practice anyway, so I called everyone into the place we were eating, and told them we were going to do a new choreography. When everyone was seated I stepped up and said something about the Wicked Step Sisters being the new belly dance troupe in our area, and that we'd be having a new member in April of 2007...
BECAUSE HUBBY AND I ARE PREGGERS -

well everyone cheered, and clapped and laughed, and my Mom was actually surprised!!!

I didn't actually tell him, because I didn't even know myself!
We went out to lunch with friends one day, and when my husband mentioned my loss of appetite and constant nausea, my girlfriend immediately predicted that I was pregnant!
I went into the chemist next door and bought a pregnancy test and did it in the toilet of the restaurant, with my excited girlfriend and her little girl looking on with interest. It came up positive immediately...
My girlfriend told her little girl not to tell the news, so that I would be able to tell the news myself, but the massive smile on her face, and hysterical giggles gave it away all the same!
Although it wasn't a textbook romantic or intimate announcement, it was great in other ways. Being able to share such a special moment with friends will be in my memories forever, and my little girl absolutely loves to hear the story being told, especially by my girlfriend and her daughter, who is 9 yrs older. She feels like she was the life of the party that day, even though she wasn't there physically, we say she was there magically!

We were having dinner one eveing with the family when we asked about names, what was the most unsusal name each person could think of. Them when everone had come up with on my husband and I looked at each other and said - Those are great but we could use some more choices, you have the next seven months to give us your choices. Both mothers went dead silent, the dads didn't get it at first. Then it hit my dad and you would have thought that he won the lottery! Everyone was laughing and shouting It was the best family dinner we ever had.

My husband now my ex , I was told I would never have kids and we were all ready together as a couple of over 10 years sense high school I was at a party at work and everyone came down with food poisoning so we are all in the er and the nurse asked me when was my last cycle and I was like Easter and it was now July but I always skipped like that so I thought nothing of it , my ex came to where I was in the er and I was just waiting for the nurse or doc to say I can go home and he walked in and said ok now we need to do a pelvic exam and get you on prenatal vitamins and I was like what for and he said ok you pregancy test came back postitve , and I swear to GOD I said well how in the world did this happen the doc just laughed at me and my ex found out when I did and we just was in total shock ....

No one believe us untill the ultrasound now 4 years later its just me and my daughter and my ex is off with a 18 year old having a child with her

Actually my husband noticed I was pregnant before I even had a clue. One morning after coming out of the shower he looked at my breast in a shocking way. He then proceeded to tell me that the circle around my nipple
looked much larger. Twice as large. I was so thrilled and went off to the drugstore to buy me a pregnancy test. I was going to take it first thing in the morning for a more accurate reading. But I couldn't wait. I woke up at 3AM and as the first drop fell on to the test - it read positive.I couldn't hide my excitement and woke my husband up to tell him the news.

My boyfriend at the time who is now my husband new i was pregnant before i did. He said that he could tell because my stomach felt harder that normal. He took me to get a pregnancy test and now 5 years later we are married with 4 kids.
