I hate to answer a question with a question but, where spandex shorts ever not popular? I've had the pleasure of knowing a gal that has worn spandex (the same pair I might add) for 8 years and counting.
Nothing says "I want to have sex with all of my son's friend" like a nice tight pair of spandex.

Spandex on anyone is wrong. Except for a wrestler, which still is nasty, no one looks hot in spandex.
