Well, you could try a fake owl with a head that turns or a product called Tanglefoot that actually gets tangled in their little feet(they Hate that)...both should be available at any lawn and garden/nursery store or maybe a Home Cheapo type place...You may have to close in the holes. I know that steel wool stops some birds as well as bats...

There is a new product out to deter pigeons that is safe and humane. It sends out a loud click every so many seconds at a frequency which the pigeons find highly distrubing. Do a search online.

I have used in the past little mini slinky's stretched across the area where they like to land and nest. They can't land where they are so it discourages them from doing so. I have also seen installed on other home thru out my city wires that hair many bristles of wires on them installed.

Birds hate snakes, I bought a rubber snake at the toy store and laid it on my electrical breaker box when the birds were building nests on top of it and they quit building and never came back on the porch.
My grandmother always had a rubber snake on the porch, up on a ledge or somewhere and now I know why!!!
Works and is cheap!!!

Install something that resemble penetrating eyes as two low level beams of light held the proper distance apart. Blinking lights work also.

They have this roll of spikes you nail along your roofline that works really well. Or you can get a unit that hooks up to your hose and has a scensor that sprays water when they land.

We use "chicken wire" to prevent them from entering these areas. It is sold at most hardware stores. Simply cut to fit the wire and use heavy staples to secure it.
