the difference is that 1 is shown on TV 4 a certain period of time before being sold on DVD or VHS. a manga on the other hand looks more like a book & contains more pages than a comic book. don't ever call a manga a comic book around a true anime fan cause u'll get ur a$$ kicked 4 that.

Anime are the movies and television shows on T.V. Mangas are the comic books. It's like Dragon Ball Z. It started off as a manga, but now it's a television show. Hope that was descriptive enough for you.
