Smoking (anything) during pregnancy is very dangerous. A few people may get out lucky, with children that have no side effects, but some children end up with problems that they will carry for the rest of their lives!! I thinking deciding it's okay to do that to a child is the most selfish thing you can do! Plus, my husband's cousin went into pre-mature labor with multiples and they tested positive for marijuana, and now she is periodically tested and is under close watch from the department of child services (as well she SHOULD be).

yes in the beginning before i knew AND YES it may have effected my son he is speech and learning delayed. I do not know if the marijuana caused it or it would have happened anyway. I stooped at 7 weeks when i found out and i only smoked like 4 to 5 times before that. Any drug of abuse can affect a mother's health during pregnancy, and this is a time when she should take special care of herself. Drugs of abuse may interfere with proper nutrition and rest, which can affect good functioning of the immune system. Some studies have found that babies born to mothers who used marijuana during pregnancy were smaller than those born to mothers who did not use the drug. In general, smaller babies are more likely to develop health problems.
A nursing mother who uses marijuana passes some of the THC to the baby in her breast milk. Research indicates that the use of marijuana by a mother during the first month of breast-feeding can impair the infant's motor development (control of muscle movement

Yup my cousin smoked and her son looked fine when he was born but as he got to talking age we found out he has a learning disability and loses his temper really fast he has a hard time understanding and pronouncing certain words. If weed burns adult brain cells how could anyone think it wouldnt do the same to a baby? We guess the smoking caused a lack of oxygen to him and screwed with his brain. It's really not worth risking! God Bless!

Now it is illegal to have a child born with ANY illegal drug in thier system and they ( social services) will fight for your baby and to be honest it just isnt worth it. I smoked before I got pregnant and when I found out I quite becuase it just isnt worth loosing my child. It is your choice though. But my baby is fine.

My sister and a couple of her friends smoked throughout pregnancy both ciggs and weed. Surprisingly their kids came out kinda fat but very healthy. They had no problems and their kids are still perfectly healthy. Infact my sisters son keeps getting taller and stockier, they think he will most likely end up well above 6ft.

Are you kidding? Small birth weight, birth defects, asthma, ADHD!
Let alone you don't know what kind of damage it will cause there brains until they are fully grown and done with school. Please don't do it! Stop smoking all together you child doesn't need to be raised in the atmosphere. AT least while pregnant and than give her up for adoption.

My sister in law smoked pot through both of her pregnancies, and now her 2 daughters have problems learning, specially when it comes to focusing on things, they are both girls with "special needs" they have to go to special schools for handicapped kids. They were both borned with very low weight less than 4 pounds at 9 months, their lungs are not fully developed they both have some kind of respiratory problems, anyway...doctor warned her but her ADDICTION to POT was stronger than her love for her kids.

first of all dont smoke marijuana.....second of all ny friends sister went early and had to get rushed to a specialty hospital in boston and during the c-section her blood tested positive for marijuana and they wanted to take her baby from her. she spent the first 6 months of her babys life getting drug tested and dealling with social services. is that what you want to deal with. whats more important getting high, or keeping your baby?

I know there will be a million answers just like mine...
Don't smoke, drink, or do drugs while you're pregnant.
If you happened to smoke before you realized you were pregnant, don't sweat it, just don't do it again.
Drugs can deform your child or even make you miscarry. Just don't do them.
