I think there can be a total lack of love to sex (as in just for the pleasure, two people simple enjoying each other's bodies) but I don't think sex is the beginning or the end of love. Love often begins before you have sex with someone, but having sex doesn't necessary mean you no longer love someone. So I say neither.
