My two year old broke eggs under his bed a week ago and I just found it because of the smell...

Phewwww- nothing stinks as bad as rotten eggs. Poor you!
Here's
Wash everything well. Then buy some pet odor remover (the kind that has active enzymes in it). It will deodorize the area, and the enzymes will eat the eggs that are making the smell.

Wow. Some thoughts:

If the eggs are broken in the carpet you'll need a steam extractor, you can rent them at grocery stores.
Open the windows and get the air circulating out of the room.
Baking soda does good things too.
Check the carpet and the padding underneath. If the eggs seeped into the padding underneath you may have to replace that as well.

Add baking soda and water together to form a paste. Cover the area with the paste, let it dry and vaccum it up. Hope this helps.
