Honestly not that it really matters if an item has FDA approval anymore. The FDA seems to have corrupted itself in recent years by pushing many drugs through their testing (backed and padded by a few extra dollars in the right pockets) to get them out on the market faster for bigger profits.
That of course has led to many problems regarding drugs not being administered properly or that the drug itself had terrible side effects that weren't realized because there wasn't enough time to test it properly.
There are more deaths and serious injuries from FDA approved items than there are from herbal remedies, including ephedra.

Now that doesn't mean all herbal supplements are safe, there are some that taken improperly can cause you harm.....that is why you need to buy from a reputable dealer not some whack job on eBay promising you to lose 20 pounds in one week.
Use some common sense and you'll be fine, a point that is lost on many.

Resources is always an issue.

I believe they do when there are some legations or a safety issue as adverse reaction with some products. With DSHEA they have to prove that the product is not safe. As they have tried to do with Ephedra.

I think FTC is more responsible for looking at the label compliance and may be involved in the analytical issues "Label Claim".

They are trying to implement GMP's but this takes time.

If the FDA told you how to get better without using the drugs that they help put out, where to you think they would get there money from. They will never tell you those things, They are one of the biggest drug dealers in the world.

Good Luck and Good Health Naturally!!!!

the process takes years and they don't have time. If people start developing tumors from taking the possible placebo pills than the FDA would get on the ball. Even daily vitamins are questionable to their effect.

because it's all about the money. The FDA is in bed with Big Pharma, the big health care companies and all their shareholders.
Getting and keeping people healthy is not profitable.

FDA is the muscle for the AMA
Keep them away from my health shops.

Why did the FDA permit transfats? Now you want them to regulate my vitamins.

Dont be so naive.
