Assuming this is a girlfiriend - from a woman's perspective the key is not how expensive the gift is but how much thought you put into showing that you took the time to think of her and put effort into doing something special. Get some candles and put them around your place, as well as on the dinner table with flowers, make her a romantic dinner with wine or champagne( i.e simple pasta dinner) - It's cheaper than going out because you don't risk her ordering an expensive dish and you could get a decent bottle of wine for what you would spend on a few glasses of wine and tip in a restaurant. If you're not a cook get take out and put it in some serving dishes. Put on your favorite romantic song and dance to it, after dessert give her your gift. Women are selective with perfume so unless you know what she likes I would go with either a nice sweater or blouse, a necklace with her birthstone or earrings within your price range. If you can't do both I say do the special evening, tell her how important she is to you, and that if she will give you the chance there will be more special things to come. I'm sure she'll understand and appreciate the effort. With that said if this is just a platonic friend then a nice sweater or purse, jewelry may be too personal

You can always try a gift card or some perfume.Wal-Mart carries name brand perfumes for a very cheap price now.But the best thing to do would be to just ask her what she wants.

Candles (and holders), flowers, chocolates, a nice dinner at a place that doesn't have a drive thru... and with winter right around the corner, a set of scarf n gloves is a nice hit.

well you can find a dollor tree in you area and get a basket and fill it with candles lotion in pretty botles and any nik nak you can find then put a nice ribon on top tada a gift baskt less than 10 bucks

go with a good scented candle and a gift card... but you can always just take her to dinner and she should be happy with that.. and if that don't work buy her a puppy or a kitten
