No trick really. Just have to have control of the ball when you go up. Touching the rim and dunking are very different things. You are close, but still have a ways to go before you can get over the rim enough to get the ball in there. If you can get your whole palm over the rim..then you would be able to dunk. Fingertip wont cut it yet. Keep trying and that will strengthen your legs.

Merely touching it isn't enough. You have to be able to hit the rim with your wrist if you want to dunk, and that is only if you can palm the ball. Something overlooked with dunking is also timing, if you are barely getting high enough timing is key. Your best bet is to find a really soft break-away rim. If you try to dunk as hard as possible, even if all you do is hit the rim, it should break down as you come down and you can force the ball in there.

The hoop is 10 feet high, so you can just touch the rim..
You need to add 2-3 inches to your leap.

you're nevertheless youthful and also you may certainly be starting to be. in case your jumping ability catches up which includes your appropriate, you may want to be dunking in many years. yet enable me say this, you should concentration on the more beneficial major factors of the game like capturing, ballhandling passing and protecting. you'd be a much more beneficial effectual participant with those skills than only being waiting to dunk. shop in concepts, a dunk is properly worth only 2 factors.

My fiancé is 6'3" as well and he can dunk. He plays with the basketball in the house when watching TV to practice "palming" the ball. He stretches his fingers on the black and holds it in front of him as long as he can (over and over) to strengthen his "palming grip". He also is constantly working on his vertical leap by jumping rope or jumping in general. With working on your vertical leap and having a good grip and control with the ball, you may just be able to get past the edge of the rim that is stopping you. Good Luck!

Your 6'3 and you can't dunk ! You must be white(LOL). Do some calf raises, and workout on your thighs so your muscles can get stronger. It'll help you jump higher.

are you trying to slam dunk it, or do you just suck at jump shots, keep on the jumping routine...eventually you will be able to jump like two feet in the air and able to slam dunk the ball
