And let some other country go in (at our expense) and manage it for awhile? We can't leave them hanging, but our PRESENCE there is counter productive. How do we rebuild what we destroyed, to the BENEFIT of the Iraqis?

Perhaps bringing in the international community would give us strength, and rebuild our relations with the world community. That would be worth the extra expense...

The other country would be seen as the "pawn of the US" and would then be subject to attacks, same as our own troops. We would end up having to be there anyway as a security force for the other country(ies) and it would cost twice as much as doing it ourselves.

Who is going to profit from this little 800 billion dollar rebuild .
WE can ofset the costs by pumping the oil out to america as was the plan in the beggining .
IT is cut and rum or continue on at this point .WE have very little choice but to stabalize the area and begin subsidizing the repairs with oil .
THIS will make work for america and those who want to will make some good money from it .

We are screwed right now. We are trying to bring dialogue, but it's not fast enough. If we leave, genocide ensues. If we stay we look bad. Your choice.

I wouldn't be against letting the civil war grow a little hotter by pulling out and then breaking into it again. The democratic government doesn't seem to want to share with the Sunni peoples/states. That's absolutely a reason for civil war.

I don't think we will ever pull out. Like Germany when are we going to pull out of there.

A good plan to me would be to build a super base near Basarah. A joint task base with a deep water port for heavy Naval support.

We should completely pull out of Baghdad and restore the green zone.

A second Air base should be built near the Turkish border with 20,000 foot runways, to handle heavy air transport and Joint Task Fighters.

This will provide Hallaburton $$$$ for decades to come and stimulate the economy away from Baghdad.

Go big Red Go

No one wants that job. They are in the middle of a religious civil war. The only option I see is to break the country up into four countries with equal oil and put peacekeepers in their to secure the new borders.

Hey, our resident expert on huge mistakes says that it would be one to leave. Since he has plenty of experience in this subject, we may want to listen.

It's a good plan, but no one would go. They won't even go to Lebanon and it's safer there.
