He has become so lazy and unattractive. I'm 33 and he is 47. His mannerism is gross, and no matter how many hints I drop; he doesn't seem to care. Everyone thinks my 18 yr old son is my spouse and my 15 yr old daughter is my sister. I guess I still look pretty good and I weigh only 130 lbs and I'm 5'5. I really want to get out and go to places!!!
-- But not only for health reasons do I suggest he quit the beer and junk food and start exercising, he has a terrible haircut too. He's taking cholesterol pills, and highblood presurre meds as well. I'm like what is wrong with you? And to top it off----
He really embarrasses me! I don't want to hurt his feelings, but he really looks nasty. And his manners have become intolerable. (It's such a turn off!) I just hate having to introduce him as my spouse. My kids are also embarrased by him. And they only want me to take them places. I feel like he's also my dad in a way, but the biggest downfall is that I think he doesn't care. What do I do?

He needs to want to. If not for himself, for you and the kids. If you can get him on a reigment for a few weeks the results may be motivation for him to keep doing it. Or start a hobby/sport that you can do together that would require him to get into better shape. Nothing motivates a man like getting their butt kicked in a sport.

You could also state that he just doesn't turn you on any more. That would hurt, but he may get the point. However the truth hurts, and he should know the truth. But be careful, hurting his feeling may only lead to decreased self-esteem.

You leave him.If my husband wrote this vitriol about me I would be devestated. His wife doesn't love him, admire him or encourage him, I should imagine he is hideously depressed. I find what you have written here utterly disloyal. My husband gets up an hour early every day to exercise. I keep myself attractively groomed and in good shape. Why do we do that? because we love & admire each other and because we want to keep ourselves looking good and feeling great for each other. If my husband got fat, I would know there was something fundamentally wrong and look for the cause. I certainly wouldn't come on the internet to spew such spite about him. You sound utterly self obsessed. Leave, and allow him to discover someone who loves him.

He will never loose weight if he does not want to. My husband lost weigh by cutting out all soda's! Eating every 3 hrs (before we heard about the three hr diet) and started jogging around our neighborhood...he lost 17 lbs in a month...then he started drinking sodas again and gained 12 lbs back...now he is back on this way of eating...keep fruits and veggies around to snack on, and try cutting back on the portions he is taking in...don't fix as much! If it is not there, he will not have it to eat.

Like I said, if HE does not want to do this, he never will.

Good luck to you!

I'd say cook more healthy foods. Go for walks at night. Drink alot of water. When you go grocerie shopping don't buy donuts, chips, sodas, candys, just buy fruit, vegies, water cook alot of chicken (white meat). stay away from starchy foods. And if your hubby ask why are you cooking healthy just tell him that you love him and you want him to live a long life. You basically need to be honest with him.

I can say this because I know a couple amost in the same position as you, throw a fit, I mean a real one and get him to a doctor that will show him what will happen to him if he don't get off his lazy a$$ and do something. he will die young if he don't.
