Yes. I was at a speech given by an ex-con who's topic was security (like how to prevent breaking and entering, car theft, etc.). He said some guys in jail told him they'd gotten around it by having a wet nickel in one of their shoes. Also, if you think about it, if a person is what's called a sociopath, they'd show no unusual reactions when they lied because they are born without a conscience and do not have any awareness that lying is wrong. In fact the differences between their kind of brain and that of most people can be scientifically proven on a case by case basis.

A thousand yes. My sister did per my instructions. She had to take one for a job. Actually, lie detectors are not reliable.; and are not admissible in court. Plus it also violates your constitutional rights, Unless you specifically ask the participant's expressed consent.

Absolutely! I have seen it done you can bite the inside of your lip or poke yourself with a pin or some people can just relax enough that they can lie about anything. It also works the other way too. The first time I had one It said I was lieing about everything even my own name and I swear to God that I wasn't I was just really nervous and it was reading that.

yes!
lie detector works because it measures how one person respond to a question (such as blood pressure, heart rate, etc)
if that person is a liar all the time, then he will not be nervous about lying, and his blood pressure will not change if he lies.
So, lie detector cannot be used in court as evidence

Its easy to beat a lie dectector if you are insane. You truely belive what you are saying. Also you can do it by training your body and controlling your emotions, i also read one time that you can bite your toung or just always feel nervous when you answer the base line questions to set a high baseline.... there are other ways.

Yes. All you have to do is react the same to every question. I see someone already mentioned the poking with a pin thing. I forget who it was but they put a pin in their shoe and stepped down on it every time they answered.

Seeing as there is no such thing .... yes!
A polygraph simply measures a person's anxiety level, so a pathological liar could *easily* register negative.

people already have. it is known in courts that it is not 100% reliable, they use the results just to mess with their credibility to the jury.
