Most honey that you purchase in a grocery store is pasteurized. It is perfectly safe. Natural or unpasteurized honey can contain small amounts of botulism. Botulism is poison. It is especially dangerous for infants and children under 2, persons with compromised immune systems, like aids and cancer patients, and elderly frail persons.
Pasteurized honey is sterile and therefore completely safe.

No. You can eat honey while pregnant.

Honey is not safe for children under 1 year, however, because they don't have the necessary bacteria in their digestive system to rid off any possible infection from the honey.

It's not bad for the pregnant or nursing mother. It is only bad for infants under the age of 1.

It's fine when you are PG and breastfeeding.
It should NOT be given to a child under 12 mos though.

nope i think honey is fine. its things like raw eggs and soft cheeses that you need to be careful around - well it was when i was pregnant - unless it changed

it is bad for infants and young children because it has bee bacteria in it ..it is not processed
