Can your son sit up alone already? My son sat up before he crawled. At any rate, 4 months is actually pretty early to be crawling, so you don't really need to do anything. You just let your baby learn on his own and learn on his own time.
Propelling forward is normal...pretty much all babies go through this before learning to crawl properly. My son even did a military crawl, so your baby may go through that as well. But like I said, you don't have to do anything... just make sure that the floor is safe and there aren't any choking hazards around.

That's normal. He needs no help right now. He's basically exercising and building up the muscles and confidence he needs to do the actual crawling. 4 months is actually a little on the young side for crawling. So, don't worry about it and let nature take it's course.

with my daughter she did the same thing at the same age.. to help her do better i would put toys all around her in a circle out of her reach not 10 feet away but a couple inches from her finger tips and she would get mad enough and just keep trying and trying until she finally did it.. so thats how i did it but yes the way ur baby is doing the nose dives is normal.. at least from my experience it is... good luck and congrats

This is completely normal. All babies teach themselves, it's best to leave them to it.
My son was dragging himself around the house when he was two months old, by the time he was 8 mos. he was running around the house like a two year old.
My daughter on the other hand wasn't walking on her own until just after her first birthday.
Some babies develop motor skills earlier than others.

My son started crawling at 4 months, then walking at 6 months. He is my first as well and I was nervious just like you, but let him go on his own. I brought my son this ball at walmart, they say it encourages them to crawl, but when you turn it on, the ball moves on its own and the baby will crawl after it

best way to help crawling is to increase amount of floor time and to sit on floor with him and encourage him forward with a toy..dont worry he just needs lots of practice he will get it ..best not to force things..he should not be crawling yet anyway...they start on average at about 5-6 months

each toddler is different, some crawl early and a few crawl later. My daughter didnt start up crawling till she became into like 7 or 8 months. She became into speaking previously she began strolling. She didnt start up strolling till she became into 14 months, she began speaking whilst she became into approximately 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, and he or she began somewhat understanding whilst she needed to bypass the potty whilst she became into approximately 22 months. each and each newborn is different. do no longer push them.

let him go, you can try to interact with him by getting in front of him on the floor but he is gonna have to learn to get around the best way for him, my son started out crawling looking like he was paralyzed from the waist down, he grabbed with his arms and pulled himself everywhere he wanted to go then went to crawling on hands and feet using no knees it was hysterical.

Just take it easy. He's very early to start crawling right now. Just make sure he gets time to play on the floor each day and put toys and things out in front of him just out of his reach so he has to work to get them. Don't push.....he'll get there when he's ready.

Normal! He just started, so his muscles are not quite strong enough yet. Give it time, trust me, you can't hurry them along or slow them down. They've got their own schedule and curiosity guiding them. Relax and enjoy these cute precious moments!
