I love animals and i want to work at petco but im not sure how old you have to be to work there. Please help thanks!

Depends on which department you want to work in. But from what we've found when my son was looking for a job, you had to be 18 (or if your state's requirement for "of age" it's 19) because they would be able to cover more for someone that's of age in case there's an accident (dog bite/cat bite; rabbies incident). With a minor there's a lot more to deal with than there is with an adult so they try to be more careful. If you're a college student they also have offer opportunities to help you get through college.
They have of course the cashiers and those that work in the stocking dept, grooming departments (you MUST be over 18 for that one) and of course the reptile and fish dept. Check them out and talk to a manager there and see what they have to offer. Or you can go to Petco.com and look at their opportunity packages.

I believe that they require you to be at least 16 years old - but try their web site and see if they have an apprentice program or require about establishing one!@
