I think it depends on the maturity and responsibility level of the child. There should a back-up plan and/or an immediate contact number. If you were 12 could your parents leave you home alone without worry? Parents have to use their best and safest judgement for the childs well being.

I think the age where you can leave your child alone without adult supervision is 12--but then again its going to depend on how much you trust your kid. My son is 12 and I trust him enough to leave him alone in the afternoon from the time he gets home from school til I get home from work. Its only a few hours but he abides by the house rules and calls me as soon as he gets home everyday....

Yes, 12 year olds are allowed to be unsupervised at home.

No because that's too young.. they have to be at lease 14 yrs. old..
