I think that the vast majority of rap music today is terrible...Most of it is conceived by artists who could give a damn less about making quality music with interesting and intelligent lyrics...
But, I love good rap...I'm talking people such as Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G. at that point. The problem seems to be that when you do find rappers today that were influenced by them, that instead of using them as inspiration, they emulate them completely and just add to the number of fakes populating the already overly saturated industry...
As far as Hip Hop goes, I've got nothing but love for it. I truly hate how most people don't know the meaning or the roots of that aspect of the culture...It bothers me that people generalize it all and think that Hip Hop isn't a music of awareness...social, cultural and political...It all sums up to their ignorance...

I love it. I think the culture of rap music has moved from violence to an enjoyment of life and reality. We've gone from shooting to hustling. Everyday is a hustle in this society and it comes in many forms. I don't even think I would need to give an example because we live it everyday. It tends to be the ignorant or closed minded that says they don't like it. I have a very ecclectic taste in music. I think they all have their positive and negatives.

I love rap/hip-hop music. Its pretty cool. I also like other kinds of genre, too. Why? You have a problem with it?
