Will we have the same old tired programs that have failed in the past .Will the massive cuts in defense spending without a viable alternative industry doom america to recession and even depression .WITH so many americans in debt upto thier eye-balls what plan does the democrats offer to change america for the better .
SEEMS they are going to react rather then work to change the base of a militaristic economy that we are based on causing wide spread layoffs and unemployment with no solution .
I do not like the current prospect of continued war to support jobs in america .SEE we are taking the current reserve of wealth in america and hoping for stable energy prices in the near future .BUT the plan is dragging on and the costs increasing .
WE need an american who can invest the wealth of america in a direction away from war goods and towards energy alternatives and in the short term oil exploration and production here in america short term to stabalize our economy. It runs on oil!

They will do the same thing the Republicans do....absolutely nothing!

What you fail to realize is that the Republicans that you have in office today AREN'T real Republicans...you think they'd be pleased with Bush's reckless spending and his poorly conceived programs and policies?

Yes, there will be some changes, some good, some not. But it seems extremely ingenuous of you to suggest that the economy would recede with military cuts (even if they on the table and they're NOT) because Clinton's economy was the most robust in our lifetime! Your argument is ridiculous, because WHEN the Democrats retake the White House, they will be in no position to cut military spending BECAUSE of the mess your party has created!

American's spending themselves into debt is a complex issue. Not all of it can be addressed, but some of it can. I'd suggest that runaway medical costs contribute to that as do rising fuel costs.

But I disagree that we need to invest in oil exploration. No matter how much we find in the ground, the supply simply will never meet demand. We must undergo an "oil detox" and find an alternative, at least to using it for automobiles. As long as we're dependant upon OPEC nations, we will be at risk. "Short term" solutions are just that...band-aids that provide comfort but never addressing the real problem.

And finally, I can't tell you if there's a Democrat that can do what you think needs to be done, but I CAN tell you there ISN'T a Republican that can.

The reality is that the DNC will create an enormous level of optimism in the media, which will immediately impact the people. Look for the Democrats to create a Second Major Tech Boom, as a major act of economic expansion, with greater exports of American Goods overseas because the optimism will be identical overseas. America will be deemed by the Thought Police as a good place again.

Because the Democrats and Socialists worldwide control the news and thoughts of people, look for a very Hawkish approach to stop the Middle East war in Iraq. They will bomb bigger and harder, the media won't cover it. And then the DNC and the UN will throw a tremendous amount of money into the Middle East to appease them.

The Democrats will decrease government spending from the pullout in Iraq, and try to reap the benefits from this.

The Democrats and Baby Boomers will have their Last Stand. They are going to push Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll to the very end, with a megaphone if at all possible. They will attempt to destory all of their enemies once and for all.

America will move further into EU and UN territory, and China and other Communists will further bolster their military threat against the United States.

The uprising will probably happen when the United States loses a major US city to a "dirty bomb." The Middle East will be emboldened because of even more severe Western Decadence. The Chinese Communists will re-value their currency and create an American Depression, as the outsource party will be over. And the news will ignore the negative reality....and then we will probably enter into a real war.

The main struggle for the United States at that time is an outsourced Manufacturing Base, Weak People and a militant Third World population wanting social services despite an economic meltdown.

I think then history will allow for a great leader to arrive.

Start with a coherent plan to disengage in Iraq and bring our troops home. Bring back a foreign policy that will bring back the respect of the rest of the world. Invest in developing clean fuel alternatives. Wean ourselves off oil dependence without destroying our precious natural resources. We can do this by expanding existing refineries and wells until viable alternatives are in full production. Rebuild and maintain our aging transportation superstructure while building new high speed transit alternatives. Bring affordable health care and prescription coverage to all Americans. Improve education so that our youth can compete in the world job market with Asian countries who have been investing in and valuing education more than we have. The economy was great during the Clinton era. We can return America to greatness.

Well, it's really a moot question, since the dems don't have a hint of a prayer of winning Congress or the White House any time in the forseeable future. They are splintered, disorganized party that has no focus.

A better question would be: what can we do to improve the current situation? While Bush was off to a good start, he allowed the appeasing left to convince him to back off, so instead of "shock and awe" it turned into a long, dragged out war. What must happen is that we get a good, strong Republican president (a la Reagan) who will go in, get the job done, and move on.

They will continue to do everything possible to destroy the American culture and and our Nation's sovereignty.

They will attempt to raise taxes to control the people and to reduce the amount of revenue taken in by the federal government each year. It is about breaking the USA financially in order to destroy Sovereignty.

They will caress the United Nations with our money and "go along" no matter what it does to harm the American people, and in spite of the UN's arrogant enimity towards the USA, this too will be an effort to give sovereignty breaking power to the socio-communist UN.

They will continue the onslaught against public education in the effort to dumb down America to below the average level of the rest of the world.

They will continue their attack on Social Security benefits.

They will try to placate the Islamo-fascist Muslims..... it will fail.... the Democrats will bring terrorism back to American soil with their inherent weakness, their inability to stand for something not of the left. They will not fight, they do not know how, they have become comfortable with losing.

They will try once again, to castrate our military.

Interns may once again be in vogue in the darkness of White House nights.

There will be an array of "special investigations" to capture the attention of the American public while they are busy subverting our Constitution and enacting all the laws they can to put more control on the American people.

The border between Mexico and the USA will be wide open with free bus rides to anywhere inthe USA for illegal aliens.

Stamp prices will rise ridiculously as they have under Clinton and Bush.

Our money will flow out of the country via foreign aid in a fashion never before seen.

They will push manfacturing out of the USA as much as possible to lower our ability to withstand currency fluctuations by other countries.

They will try to make the USA more dependent upon red communist china products than ever before... how could it get worse than it is now.... it could.

This is how I see the future under someone like Kerry, H clinton, the Algore, or any of the Democratic Socialist USA members.

They want to control you, they want your money, they want to be the elitist ruling class.

At one time, I was a Democrat.... I finally saw the darkness they offered, but no light for America. They offer hope, a false hope, but no solution. They love to spend "other people's money".

I hope we move to a moderate president. I wouldn't say a Democratic president is a sure thing, by any means. If Democrats put another ultra-liberal up and try and take down a moderate like McCain, I just don't think they'll have a chance. This was probably the problem the Democrats had in the last election.

The rest is hard to tell. The runaway congress was due, in part, to the president signing everything no his desk. But primarily the blame is on congress itself.

I totally agree, Im an American who was brought up in England, I'm well away from the constant propaganda that the current Government churn out. I dont think America doesnt care its just that it doesnt know- everyone is too busy to read or find out more. It concerns me that everything including foreign policy is based around on type of industry, its very short sighted and narrow. In the darwinian mode of evolution we need to survive and maintain sucess not by force by by diversifying, and investing in our people with education.
We have such a position of influence that if we took a fairer stance in the world things would be more balanced and certainly les confilict and tragedy.

I perfer a tax and spend government to a government that weakens America by going to war with non-threatening countries and relies on National debt and foreign investment to keep itself afloat. That's just stupid.

I'd rather wait and find out what happens at the polls than to keep watching America slide down the hill under George Worthless Bush

Clinton had the lowest Unemployment record in HISTORY for an American President. Most people forget that. Tax and spend can work very well under a properly constructed budget. But What does Bush have? TAX CUTS for the wealthy and the highest unemployment trend and UNDER-EMPLOYMENT RATE of any American president?
Thanks for sending all our jobs to Asia and Mexico azzhole.

It's not hard to figure that out. Just look at the 40 years they controlled Congress. They raised taxes, increased spending, expanded the size and scope of government. Any time their programs were shown to be failures they said if it failed we didn't do enough of it. Do more.

Wait a minute the Republicans have been in power since about 1994, they've increased taxes, increased spending, expanded the size and scope of the government. What makes anyone think there would be any change?

Well first they will pull all the troops out of Iraq. Then they will send care baskets to all the people that hate us. After that hey will arrest all remaining members of our military for war crimes. Oll bubba Clinton will be put in charge of the ms. Teen USA pageant. They will repeal all taxes except those on the filthy rich; you know those richer than they are. They will stop global warming by making us all walk where ever we go, no riding horses that would be animal cruelty. They will invent a plug that eliminates odder and sound when you fart. And finally we will all join hands and dance naked around the trees.
