I've had something very similar. It was not excrutiating but it was uncomfortable.
I was similar to a feeling I used to get sometimes with my period.
My doctor said it was nothing to worry about and just the weight of my uterus/baby pressing downwards on my cervix/ligaments etc (I'm 24 weeks). It went away when I lay down.
Check with your doctor if its really bad though as there is a condition called SPD which some pregnant women develop. This is very painful and does need treatment so its worth getting it checked out.

It does sound like you've got a lot of pressure from the weight of the baby. Was your first baby early or a quick delivery? There are elastic supports (like a sling or a large band that goes under the bump) that can help support the weight but for 5 months...
Until you can speak to a health care professional, please spend as much time as you can, lying down, preferred to be on your left side, stay VERY well hydrated and take note of anything that feels like a contraction or even the baby stretching if the *stretching* becomes a regular sensation.

Could be round ligament pain....
It's generally a brief, sharp, stabbing pain or a longer-lasting dull ache that women commonly feel in the lower abdomen or groin, starting in the second trimester of pregnancy. You may feel it as a short jabbing sensation if you suddenly change position, such as when you're getting up from a bed or chair or when you cough, roll over in bed, or get out of the bathtub. Or you may feel it as a dull ache after a particularly active day, say when you've been walking a lot or doing some other physical activity.

I didn't get this until my third pregnancy. Yes, it is quite uncomfortable. It might have to do with the position the baby is laying in, which puts pressure in a different spot. I tried wearing a "belly bra" (what my doctor called it), but it was even more uncomfortable. So I just dealt with it. Once the baby changed positions it got better. It just an ache you have to deal with though.

All pregnancies are different. You have what sounds like the ligament pain in that area. It is very normal. I had it in my first preg. and had to rest a lot, was hard to cut out shopping trips!
Get off your feet as much as you can for a few minutes to rest the pain.

i had something similar with both pregancies and would describe as a dragging pain in my groin area. It hurt more when baby kicked about down there.
There is a pelvic condition in pregnancy but i can't remember the name. it is basically your hips becoming so far separated in preparation for the birth that you can hardly walk

it's ligament pain and it dose get worse in 2ed or more pregnancy. I am pregnant with my 3rd I get very low cramps and my lower back hurts I'm 21 weeks I'M caring very low also. I did not get so achy with my 1st child all your muscles and ligaments loosen in pregnancy and it cause you to pull a muscle more easy and it causes cramps. ALWAYS IF YOU FEEL it's not normal 4 you call the doctor. I can only say 4 me it is normal i did ask my doctor he said it's fine.

This could be a sign of early labor :( Maybe you should try to get in to see her sooner. if it gets worse go to the er and get checked until then lay on your side or back with your feet propped up on like 3 pillows, this will help the swelling and pain. Have your hubby rub your feet for a while this is always an extra treat and it helps the pain. try soaking in A warm bathtub scented with lavender. Studies show Lavender helps calm your body1 Try not to be on your feet so much when your shopping get in one of those hovaround chairs your pregnant no one will say anything to you. This is kind of like you giving your self written bed rest. Good luck and I pray all goes well

It's just the muscles and such in that area. I had it pretty bad with my 2nd pregnancy. If it's really bothersome, get a maternity belt, those help loads. Congratulations on the upcoming baby!

Could be any number of things from ligament or muscle pain, or the womb could be tilted back a little so that it presses on nerves or your bowel or forward pressing on the cervix. Hokpe everything goes OK with the rest of your pregnancy. Good luck.
