Each of these songs was written/dedicated to real and sometimes famous women. Can you tell me who they are and the artists that perfomed each song? OK, a couple of them are really, really easy! Have fun! :o)

Candle In The Wind - Elton John - Marilyn Monroe (he mentions her in the song)

Julia - The Beatles - John Lennon's mother, who was tragically killed (run over by a car)

Oh Carol! - Neil Sedaka - his tribute to Carole King

Layla - Derek & The Dominoes - Eric Clapton speaking/singing about Patti Boyd - George Harrison's (and later his) wife...

Sweet Scarlet - Cat Stevens - controversary over what he is referring to - could be the drink, "As we drank down the wine to the last Sweet Scarlet." ...could be a hidden name for a lover - Carly Simon whom he dated in the early 70s...

Great question - keep 'em coming!

Candle in The Wind was orginally about Marilyn Monroe, but was later rewritten for Princess Diana. Elton John performed the latter version at her funeral and it became the best selling single of all time. Oh,Carol was written and performed by Neil Sedaka and was his ode to Carole King,a fellow songwriter he was dating at the time.
