Draw up a form letter under the watchful eye of the schools PTA group and send it out to local companies, organizations and even local businesses. If you are sure they may contribute, include an e-mail address as well as a postal address and the library's telephone number. If the school has a website, include that also. Some one is going to have to donate, time, stamps and stationery. Get a PTA member to do research on library materials grants and funding.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

Contact publishers. They don't want to keep in stock a lot of books that probably won't sell because they are taxed on their inventory. They may donate books.
Book stores may donate some of their stock that hasn't sold in their "final sales".
Sometimes local businesses will donate money to purchase books as a goodwill gesture.
Check any libraries in your area. They often have excess books that they will give away.
Are there any schools in your area that have closed down? There may be books available in those buildings - contact the school district or previous sponsor of the school.
Church groups may be a source of help.
Best of luck with it.

I don't know where you live, but where I live the Junior League donates books all the time. Also, you might try local Banks or even the Wal-Mart near you. Most Banks are required to donate a certain amount of funds to the Community.

i might want to assert the time-honored public library. even as the library in my city takes books on donation, in the experience that they don't have already got sufficient copies of the e book, they're going to positioned it on the shelf for people to envision out. If the e book is in undesirable structure, old, or they have already got adequate copies, they're going to promote it at a really low fee interior the "good purchase basement". in spite of the reality that i like the Salvation military and Goodwill, donating to the library will probable enable the for the most use of the books. particularly than one fortunate soul getting the books, you get to percentage them with the community. no matter if the library does finally end up promoting the books, the money continues to be interior, and helps, your community.

Scholastic will often donate some books, but you really need to look for grants.
