In many cases that is the same thing. A regular cycle is 28 days. 14 days would be ovualtion day, which is 14 days before your period. It is also 14 days after. Do you see what I mean?

Now, there are tons of exceptions to that rule. You may have a 28 day cycle and ovulate on day 10. Or day 20. Or you may have a cycle that is 36 days and you ovulate on day 22 or day 16. The only way to know for sure is to chart your symptoms, the CM, the temperature on waking and any cramping you may have.

In my own personal experience, my cycle is 32-34 days and I ovulate around the 18th day after my new cycle begins. (the first day of period)

The majority of women ovulate 12-16 days *before* their period. Within individual women, this rarely varies by more than a day. To figure out when you ovulate, try charting your basal body temperature; it will increase slightly but noticeably upon ovulating. After charting for two or three cycles, you should have a handle on when you, personally, ovulate especially if your cycles are pretty regular. In reality, only a small percentage of women have 28 day cycles AND ovulate on day 14; we're far more individual than that. Luckily our bodies give us plenty of information about when we're fertile if we know what to look for.

In a perfect world, our cycles would be 28 days and then both would be correct. However, we do NOT live in a perfect world and not everyone has a 28 day cycle. Even if you do, you may not ovulate on day 14. The best thing is to either chart your bbt (basil body temperature) everyday, and when your temp rises 0.5 degrees or more, your ovulating. Or, you can use ovulation predictor kits (I've heard Clear Blue Easy are the best). They cost about $20 for 7. The instructions tell you which day of your cycle you should start using them based on the average length of your cycle. When they turn blue, it means you're ovulating.

No, it isn't. Like someone already reported, as a lot as a level it relies upon on your cycle length, the longer your cycle, the later your ovulation date. uncomplicated strategies to correctly pinpoint your ovulation dates is to apply a ovulation try equipment. You honestly try your urin in the morning and the try will prepare sensible or unfavourable searching on when you're ovulating - it really is fairly very resembling a being pregnant try. when we were ttc, I used those for 4 months operating and positioned that my dates distinct appreciably - my cycle became between 29-31 days and that i began ovulating everywhere between day 16-20, so quite a distinction! I did attempt taking my temperature (at the same time as utilising the ovulation sticks), yet i got here upon this fairly unreliable as some days my temperature became more desirable than others, yet i became nevertheless no longer ovulating - and at the same time as i became ovulating there wasn't a lot distinction. the basically time i might want to tell it became operating became at the same time as i myself were given pregnant as then my temperature went up through about 0.5 stages (celsius) for quite a few days. a great number of success!

It depends on how many days between your menstrual bleedings. If you go 30 days between your first day of bleedings, then you ovulate in the middle, on day 15. Or, 15 days before your next cycle begins.

Also remember, sperm can live inside your body for up to 3 days. So, if you have unprotected sex 2 days before you ovulate, there is a very real possibility of getting pregnant.

That is only based on a 28 day cycle. Chart your cycles to find out how long or how short your cycle is. If you are trying to conceive ovulation kits are very helpful. Those on line calculators are not helpful unless you actually know how long your cycle is. Some even only predict ovulation based on a 28 day cycle which doesn't help most women. Good Luck!
