I live in Imerial County CA and have not been able to get an official answer.

There is a theoretical limit at which point gravity will pull it down, and it will collapse. However that limit is way beyond anything that man has ever built,
Oh wait...I'll bet you meant "How high must a fence be if you have a pool". If this is the case...Most municipalities require six feet, but you may want to check with your local permit office.

the building code states that a pool needs to be surrounded bu a 4' hight fence and has to have a self closing self latching gate. if you have an aboube ground pool and it is 4' about grade then that will serve as a barrier, but it has to have a removable ladder that needs to be removed when not in use. some cities do have zoning laws that also need to be addressed..

i dont think there is a limit on the hieght.but it has to be at least 4 ft. tall.by putting a fence around your pool with a lock,you may be able to save some$$$ on your house insurance.check it out.good luck
