Yes I did have the problem before I had the alignment and rotate and balance done. Thats why had this done first, but it seemed like it fix the problem for a couple of days then it was back doing the same thing.

Your most likely cause for steering wheel vibration when you brake is warped front rotors. Before the recent steering wheel shaking did you have to suddenly brake hard? Typically rotors are warped by excessive heat, cause by braking.

I would advise having the brakes inspected and having them inspect the rotors to determine if they are warped.

The only right answers are those who said your rotors are warped. Have them re-cut. You wasted your money on the alignment, go to a better auto repair shop where the mechanic can diagnose problems and not guess.

If you just had the tires rotated, chances are the shop over-tightened the lug nuts. This will cause the front rotors to warp.

Brake rorors have excessive runout and need machining. It may have been caused by improper torquing of the wheels...was it doing it before the tires were balanced?

Have the rotors checked. Replace it they are worn beyond the limit to turn them, or have them turned if not. They are probably warped.
