Yes it is normal, this is happening because your baby is pushing up onto your diaphragm which is putting pressure on your ribs making it difficult for you to breathe, it still has a lot of growing to do, but don't worry, it will move down into your pelvis at about 36/7 weeks and your breathing will go back to normal. Remember to rest plenty and take deep breaths rather than short quick ones. If you are really concerned and worried about it see your doctor or midwife.
Good luck and all the best. xxx

First of all calm down you are only going to make matters worse if you panic....It is normal to experience some loss of breath for periods of time...try to lay down...the baby is probably pushing up on you diaphram, located right under your lungs, If he/she is pushing on it you will experience loss of breath...usually only lasts for a day or so before the baby decides to move around and off of your insides, if the loss of breath lasts for more than a day or two then call you doctor, dont rush to the emergency room unless you are experiencing other symptoms.....call your doctors office if you are unsure and they may tell you the same I just did...if they have a concern they will set up an emergency appointment with them....I remeber this quite often when I was pregnant and I did not have any complications....I would lay down and rub my belly to wake the baby uap and she would squirm around and move off of it...usuall it was my bladder though...I would always have to pee......good luck...

How much trouble? If breathing is difficult, usually because of the amount of space your uterus is taking up inside. Lungs can't expand like they did when you were alone inside your body. If this is the case, yes. If you're gasping for air, can't walk across the house without sitting down to catch your breath, no.

If you are having a hard time taking a full breath (I had this), stretch your arms straight up and try to take a deep breath. This helps open up your lungs, pulls it up away from everything the baby has pushed up, making it difficult to breath. Ah, the joys of pregnancy!

If you've been active and then have a hard time breathing, it's completely normal. I remember there were always points in my pregnancies when I found it hard to breath. You have to remember that the baby is putting pressure on you lungs and diaphram.

Baby may be taking up space and pressing on your lungs so you can't take a deep breath.
Try doing some pelvic rocking to encourage baby into a good position and maybe get yourself a little more room to breathe.

I had that too. I had to take a lot of little breaths or lean back and take a deep one. It will get better in a few weeks when the baby drops.

I had some problems, too, at that point in my pregnancies. (I delivered at the beginning of October). I think that the little tyke starts running out of room and starts pushing at your diaphragm. Also, we're starting to run into allergy season again, so maybe you're having multiple issues. Either way, run it past your ob/gyn and see if she thinks you should be concerned. She's more familiar with your full medical history than any of us well-meaning Yahoo-ers are.
