My town doesn't offer that...though you can put them in black bags and they will come pick them up. Though my other house provided that! Just wondering if you have one?
Maybe if the town puts in enough complaints...they'll start that up...
You'd think for $82.50 they would provide that service.

We can take our garbage and recyclables to the transfer station for free (well, included in our taxes presumably). We take advantage of it, but others on our street still pay good money to have their trash picked up. Duh!! I don't think it's any coincidence that they are much larger around the waist. ;) We also try to compost any vegetable/fruit waste, and we give stale bread, crackers, cereal to the birds and squirrels.

$ 240 A year in southern cal. and in upstate NY Out in the country it is about $96 a year, but to be fair in Cali they have three huge 155 gallon cans, brown for trash, green for yard waste and blue for recycle, and the name of the can is on the top! it really works very well, but the big problem is people fill the cans with the wrong stuff, but the truck drivers are on to it ! they leave it and put a note on the can! in upstate NY it is a private guy who picks up the trash, and they do not promote recycling. they do allow burning of trash, I am not a trash or yard waste burner, so i have to recycle it myself, i have milk crates in the garage where i put the newspaper, and cans, and other recycle items,i even have my store mgr bring all the recycle from my optical store and put it in the crates then every two weeks A fella comes buy for free and picks it up and takes it down to a recycle facility and gets paid for it , his family has been in town for years and that's what they do. also i recycle all of my yard waste, and tree limbs i have a chipper and mulch Machine that makes mulch out of it .the flowers and gardens love it.

My trash can is beige,not green.I do have a big green trash can that I put beer and soda bottles in though.When it fills up I give them to the parrish to help pay the heat bills in the winter. OK,OK,I know what you mean,just picking on you is all.Out in the sticks we have no trash pickup.I take my trash to the dump every week. It's free as a part of our property tax.As for stuff that is biodegradable like food scraps...they go to the critters in the woods.Critters need to eat too!!

$ 132.00 every 6 mo. My can is huge and we recycle but with a business you have to have a big one. hehe. You think your service is bad , I have to sit and watch the dude that picks our garbage up use our stop as a go through. I mean a go through the garbage truck . He goes through all the bags of other peoples trash and puts stuff he wants to keep in a bag he hangs on the outside of the truck before he runs the compacter. I watched him take out a vacuum cleaner and a lamp one day. Sick! My husband went out to talk to him and he said he finds all kinds of goodies to take home for his wife. Well, since I felt he needn't pass bacteria to his lovely bride I saved my salmon skins and garbage that I usually put on our conpost pile and let them sit in a bag in the sun for a few days in the can. Then I called his boss and told him to please have his help compact their truck somewhere besides my drive as I am tired of picking up nails and crap from the truck. I guess he is mad at us now cause the trash didn't get picked up last week and he set my cans half in the road the week before! I hope he dug through my bags as I left him some souveneirs ! Now he is really in for it because I paid $150.00 for my big trash can and in the country I live on a drag strip and I like my can he almost had smashed by cars. Yes, I feel sorry for his wife on her annivesary :(

No bill. No trash pick up. Haul my own trash to the transfer site for the dump.. See how lucky you are. Maybe you could use my method.Trash pick up is not provided where I live. .

My city has curbside recycling that runs with the regular trash pickup. We pay about $165 a year.

I don't pay anythng for trash pickup, and I get recycled trash taken out on Thu (green can), regular trash on Mon.
