Its a degree of black, so doesn't have an opposite on the color wheel. black and white are opposites. There are warm greys and cool greys (blue-based or red-based), but there's no opposites.
The good news is, that means it will go with any color.

I don't think grey has an opposite. Isn't it in the middle of the color wheel?

Grey is a mixture of white and black. It really doesn't have an opposite.

Gray is the neutral color. It is in the middle of the road if you mix a primary color with it's complement in equal color intensity proportion (50% Red - 50% Green, 40% Orange - 60% Blue, 70% Purple - 30% Yellow) you will get Gray. Gray can also be considered a tone and not a color.

Took a look at color wheel. if it's bluish grey then the opposite would be a yellowish grey like ecru or something. Etc...

well, grey would be more of a tint i guess. and when you add light to something you get the tint and when you add dark to something you get the shade. so, i guess grey is really just a tint. im probably soooo wrong on this. it's just the first thought that came to mind.
