Well the price is surely going to blow, as well as suck, $600.00? come on who's got that kind of money to spend on a freakin video game system? Yeah it's supposed to do all sorts of other stuff but geesh Sony all I want is a video game system, and maybe enough money left over to 99 cent burger afterwards!!!!

I saw that video on you-tube already and it was not an accurate representation of the PS3's press conference. Sony only wanted to put out the best system on the planet, that is why it cost so much, Sony is well aware that the cost will drive some people to other game systems like the weak Nintendo Wii system, but they also know that real gamers will see what a great power house system it is. The two cell processors that run the PS3 cost Sony over $1000.00 to make, and the blue-ray technology lets developers put more details into the games, so you are getting what you pay for. If you look at the weak Wii system you will see it has no power (graphics) and the game line-up, once you get past Zelda and metroid are all for kids 12 year old and under. So you may save money on the Wii, but you get what you pay for with the PS3. People want to knock the PS3 because of the price, they are just uPSet that they either can't afford it or they can't get mom and dad to pony up that kind of money for a gaming system. So to answer your question, NO the ps3 does not blow, i think it will do great on the market.

Yeah, and they're (Sony) thinking of making the games more expensive too. So it's not just the initial price, but the continued expense of the games. Besides, Nintendo's going to be retroactive so you can enjoy all those wonderful SNES games again. (Though who knows how they'll price them.) And you can play them legally rather than on your emulator :)
