I think cancer research is a charity and nothing to do with the government.
and they do a good job raising awareness and funds though they shouldn't have to as the money should be available as there should be no price put on a persons life.

The drug companies decide how expensive a new drug is. Any new drug that is discovered is immediately patented. This protects the company from anyone else copying the drug and selling it. BUT the patent only lasts for a short time (about 10 years max I think - not sure about that but I know it's only a short time) after which it can be copied. So the drug company has to make back all the money it invested in researching and testing the drug in the time that it is patent-protected.

The testing process may take several years before the drug goes on general sale so there are only a few years left for the drug company to get a return on their investment. This is how they justify the high cost of new drugs. Nothing to do with the fact that they have sole right to make the drug and therefore can choose whatever price they like (cough cough)

Plus of course they have to pay their directors amazingly high salaries and their shareholders incredibly large dividends...

i don't believe of it really is a bias hostile to men a lot as a bias in the direction of drugs which will earn the most money - if i'm most suitable, the biggest maximum cancers killers are epidermis and lung maximum cancers, yet even as i'm continuously invited for screening for breast and cervical maximum cancers, no individual has ever offered to envision my lungs or epidermis (which i'm maximum liable to, in view that I burn surely) i imagine this is all tousled - i understand analyze has to maintain on with the capitalist ethic, yet there desires to be extra authorities funded stuff this is in percentage to the surely risks confronted through the inhabitants. also, in case you seem up how most of the donations flow in the direction of surely analyze (really than paying the employees on the charity) you'll probably in no way favor to donate to them back - and that is going for an excellent type of charities, not purely breast maximum cancers, etc :-) playstation - you regulate your frock extra frequently than i regulate my ideas!

The company that develops the drug decides. We are in a capitalist country, so they are in it to make a profit.
