There was never actually a sequel made to the film, but it was part of a series of 3 books about the Rabbite family called the snapper, the van and the commitments by Roddy Doyle. All 3 were made into films, but not as a trilogy as was intended by the author.

The movie was the first in a trilogy of movies about life in Ireland. The second movie is called "The Van" and the third movie "The Snapper". The three films are all connected and based on the Barrytown Trilogy by the author Roddy Doyle.
The internet movie database links are below and you should be able to pick them up at any decent dvd rental shop.

No sequel was made, although the band still tour and have released several albums.
Only one original member of the band survives but they are still brilliant.

Man I wonder what ever happened to that kid that sounded like Joe Cocker. He had a great voice and I thought he would become a star.

I loved that movie! I don't think there was a sequel, but there were a few related documentaries.
