The last man standing match was schedule as SummerSlam months before the last minute change. They thought the Great Khali had room to improve his wrestling skill before the August 20 date but with being calling in sick at The Great American Bash, as well as the lack of wrestling time on Smackdown and house show force management to schedule the match on Smackdown before SummerSlam. They didn't see any improvement from Khali at all and the reason he was on Smackdown was because he didn't "perform" well live in the first place when he got called up from OVW (they just thought that he can get away with his size). The likely hood of this is that Davari is going to have to lose his third client in two years, I think (Muhammed Hassan was written off after the London bombing and Mark Henry injured himself at SNME) as Khali would likely be sent down to OVW to reinvent his character or release him outright.

The reason for the change of the match to Friday is that Kahli is not "good enough" to do a PPV. Taker would have had to carry him the whole way. By doing it Friday night, WWE could edit the televised version making it a much better match!
Kahli needs a lot of help. Maybe sometime in the non televised ring would help him tremendously.

I think it would of been history in the making on Pay-Per-View but right now, it is history right on live television. And in my opinion, I Loved every bit of it!!! Because it's not many matches like that you would see on live television!!!
