How do you keep yourself from hurting a family member that hurt your child physically and emotionally making your child's life disfunctional. Just when you think you can control yourself you find yourself thinking about it. The only thing your scared of is running into this person because you don't know what kind of day you will have and don' t know what your capable of doing. Is it called temporary insantity if you are minding you own business and they run into you and you can't control yourself???? How would you go about it??

People hurting innocent children make me sick. If someone, a family member, friend, stranger, ANYONE, hurt my 7 year old son I don't know what I'd do. I'd want to harm them the way they harmed him. I know one thing, that person better think twice coming around my family. Hurting children is wrong - hurting them in ANY way is wrong. Physically as well as emotionally. Children are fragile in so many ways and they deserve to have a good, peaceful, safe environment to live in!
We as adults are responsible for the welfare of ALL children, not just our own.

I'm sorry someone hurt your child. They should be punished. You will not help yourself with anger and frustration. If the statute of limitations is not up I would refer this to the local authorities. If so, I would be sure I and my child were separated from this person by miles and states.
For yourself, you should get some counseling if you haven't already. It is appropriate for you to be angry about a situation. But when the anger becomes chronic and on-going something needs to be dealt with.

First of all, you have to think about your child, if you do something wrong like MURDER who is gonna look after your child when you get locked away. We understand your pain but the safest thing to do is. Make an official police report on the person, if the act was physical, and repeat the report if nothing was done and it happens again, if the act wasen't physical i suggest you move far away from the individual as posible. Remember you main concern is you childs safety and well being. As for me when i move my daugter to safety, ill come back, find them and kick there ***.

Karen.. you have already display more control than I would have... hurting a child physically and emotionally making the child's life dysfunctional is a crime.... get the police involved and get that sicko behinds bars.

God Bless You. If you believe in God, Pray. If you believe in justice, call the police, if you believe in vengeance, pray harder. The last thing you want to do is something that you will regret. You don't want to loose the one thing you want to fight for, your child. Keep in mind that they need you. So, If you haven't been to the police , go right now. I too was your child. My parents wanted to kill the man that hurt me but they knew that my well being would not be met with them locked up. I don't even remember the trial but I know that after all these years, 19 to be exact, I know my parents did the right thing.

Assumming that you are a responsible parent how would they be in the care or even around a family member long enough to to abused to the extent you are describing. it is your responsibility to care for your child and make sure they are safe. You know your family so why subject your child to it. Take responsibility and then the anger toward them wil subside. And then choose to be a better parent

First thing if someone ever hurt one of my kids physically or emotionally I wouldn't worry about how "NOT" to hurt them I would already have hurt them...My question then would be " any body have bail money" I would do what I had to to protect my kids, I can't stand for anyone to abuse anybody BUT, especially an Innocent child!!! Report his butt to the police press charges...do what you have to to make your child feel he/she is protected by his Mom...Good Luck!!!

pray for a stronger restrant.if life was that easy on getting even with people there would not that many left.sure the first thing that would come to mind is to really **** somebody up but sometimes there others ways to win .if you know any thing about yolanda adams she will tell you this is not you battle its the lord battle.im not trying to be to religous im being real.keep distance stand back and pray real hard and let god work.in doing this you will be able to see your self make it out of this situation be able to regain your santity your kids need someone to be strong for them if they cant do it there self.and that someone has got to be you.

Well, if you plan on calling it temp. insanity, I'd immediately delete this question so there's no proof that you had bad intentions that you were aware of...I don't know exactly what someone did to hurt your child, but if anyone lays a hand on my daughter, they'll pay, one way or another. It's human nature for any good parent to want to protect their children.

you have to think about it from a legal standpoint. if you think you could kill them or them press charges then that wont be heling your child in the end because you wont be there to protect them. Its hard to resist but thats the best choice you could make for your family
also make sure your child and maybe yourself recieves counseling because that is the best thing for both of you.
