I guess i'd have to go with the Red Sox but i honestly could care. I usually judge the team on how hot the guys are. Most sports guys are hot but I'm not a fan of any baseball guys so the home team it is!

Obviously, the 26 time World Champion New York Yankees!

To all of those who says that all the Yankees do is spend money to get the best players and the other teams can't compete, I say BUNK!

Professional sports is a BUSINESS, and why do people get into business? TO MAKE A PROFIT! TO MAKE MONEY!

Also - and I'm paraphrasing Steinbrenner when I say this - one of the reasons the Yankees spend is because Steinbrenner wants to put out a quality product (team) that is going to produce for THE FANS!

Now, to all of those who believe that we are just going to "coast" into the Fall Classic and bring home #27 because we've won 4 in a row against Boston (hopefully 5 by this evening), let's not put the cart in front of the horse. We still have a month and a half of the regular season left to play, and Boston is still less than 10 games behind us.

For those that can remember the 1978 season, at one time we were 13 games back, and came back to tie with Boston to force a 1 game playoff, and thanks to Mr. Bucky Dent, we won that game and eventually went on to win the World Series. So don't think that just because we may end up 5 or 6 games ahead of Boston that we have everything "wrapped up", because we don't. We still have to fly to Seattle after tonight's game, and even though they have lost several in a row (11, I think), don't think they'd love nothing more than for us to come there and have them sweep US.

Don't get me wrong, Yankee Fans, we deserve to enjoy winning at Boston, but don't get so caught up in winnig a few games, that we forget everything else that needs to be done.

Yankees.

As to the Red Sox don't buy a team. They have the second highest payroll in all of baseball. Second only to the Yankees. Don't give me that bullshit.

well i'm a yankees fan so i'll say yankees. and the yankees have a better team. you can compare them position by position.

starting pitching-yankees
i mean they have a much more solid rotation with wang, mussina, johnson, lidle, and wright. it's much better then schilling, beckett [who is one of the top in home runs given up], lester [an unproven rookie], jason johnson [just look at his record], and wells [who's always injured].

relief pitching- yankees
who would you rather have close game 7 of the world series? mariano rivera or john papplebon? i rest my case.

cather-yankees
jorge posada is having i fine all around year and mirrabeli [sp?] is more of a defense only catcher.

1st base-draw
craig wilson is adequate at first base defensively and has good pop. youklis [sp?] is pretty good defensively too, and is a good gap hitter.

2nd base-draw
cano is a good defensive 2nd baseman and is a future .300 hitter that has some pop. loretta is good defensively and is a consistent hitter who gets a lt of doubles.

3rd base-yankees
if you base it on talent it obviously goes to the yankess. a-rod is also a much better hitter then lowell. but lowell is a gold glove third baseman.

shortstop-yankees
alex gonzalez is a gold glove caliber ss, but doesn't hit. derek jeter is a excellent short stop who's clutch, and hits for average.

left field-red sox
it's manny against melky. i'll leave it at that.

center field-yankees
damon is good tracking down fly balls in center and his arm is at least a c-minus. coco crisp is very inconsistant and doesn't have much of an arm either.

right field-yankees
bobby abreu is a very good hitter and gets a lot of walks. he is also excellent defensively and has a great arm. the pena-hinskie platoon is good, but hinskie strikes out a lot and pena is very inconsistant.

dh-red sox
it's close, i mean giambi against papi, but who would you want more in a clutch situation?

Definitely the Yankees. How can you hate an owner that is willing to spend money to give his manager a competitive team? If my company was willing to invest more money in us, I am sure we would be more effective.
