Well, J.C., it is like this. When one is in a gambling center or syndicate, one becomes part of the team! When one is in a whore-house, one is accused of patronizing prostitutes! When one is in a bar, one is supposed to have drunk alcohol! Politics and politicians are no exception!

Good guy, right team -- a team that will try to solve problems (admittedly not always as planned, or even correctly) but will atleast tackle the issue - that may be more of a personal trait than a party / ideology trait. McCain goes at things head-on. Something I've only seen in VERY FEW Dems as they constantly dance around issues.
Example: Al Gore: save the enviroment
Truth: 3 homes (one being 10,000 sq/ft with 8 bathrooms), a fleet of chevy suburbans, and flys G5s like yopu pick-up milk at the store.....not exactly CARBON NUETRAL --- hybrid refers to his dog
Atleast ED BEAGLY JR. RODE HIS BIKE AND DRIVES A HYBRID

Mc Cain is a phony. Here in AZ we hate him but are forced year after year to vote for him to keep his seat in the senate Republican. The Dems never put anyone up against him because they are quite happy with him and the way he votes.
His real base is Democrat and he votes to keep that base.
This is the guy that when his wife got in a horrible traffic accident and was in the hospital for months just trying to survive he divorced her and married his mistress.
His real goal is to be President. He thinks the same Democrats that keep him in power as a Senator will vote for him in the Presidential.
But he will loose against Hillary. The Dems leadership want him to run as he is an easy knock off against her.
This guy eats drinks and sleeps political maneuvering and nothing else.

John McCain doesn't really care about which team he's on, as long as he can just once be on the winning team. He may not be the self-aggrandizing ideologue that's in control today, but he's too contradictory and I for one keep a long memory.

I could have easily supported McCain in a presidential run even though I'm a Democrat, but after his remarks on the Sunday morning news shows, don't think I could. He actually outBushed-Bush by calling for sending MORE troops to Iraq!!!

I think you have it just right.
There's no doubt in my mind that John McCain is a good guy, who would make an excellent president. Still I would never vote for him for the simple reason that on his coat tails the whole republican gang would have another go at it. God forbid!

After sucking up to Bush after the 2000 election, and for selling out and speaking at Liberty University (the University founded by Jerry Falwell) I think he lacks dignity and integrity.

McCain is a good man, hawkish, but fair. He knows war from an intimae angle, not like the coward and daddy's boy Bush.

He has to much loyalty to a President that has no loyalty to him. I think there is some honor in that but I also think there is so stupidity in it to. Honor is a great thing if it does not put the rest of the country in danger. Good guy Wrong Brain
