All the rain the south is supposed to get was carried off to the north by a giant high pressure cap...that's making the drought here in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area even worse!

I swear it rains most in the West (of the UK obviously.)? It's relief rainfall, where warm wet air is forced to rise over high land. As the air rises it cools and condenses. Clouds form and it rains.
There's also convectional rainfall and frontal rainfall. I cannot fully answer your question, because it depends on whether you're asking the North or South of the UK or of the planet. Because if you mean of the whole planet, then it rains most on the Equator...

It probably rains more in the N f the UK becuase there are more mountains - as warm air rises it forms clouds and rain.

Rain occurs when cold and warm air meet and condense so in the North is closer to where this air meets more often.

Compare Aberdeen to Glasgow - Aberdeen is 150 miles further north and is rained on far less than Glasgow.
