You got it.

The term stirs up the emotions, triggers memories of having heard it before, and generally sounds like a horrible description.

The fact that it is (by definition) inapplicable has no bearing on its emotional effectiveness as a rallying tool.

Regardless of anything else that can be said about Bush, he (or his speech writers) know how to turn a phrase, and how to hit peoples' buttons on a visceral level.

When you look at the actual definition of fascism, it's a bit rich that Bush is using that term to describe islamic fundementalism. Fascism, being the corporatisation of the state (as is happening increasingly under Bush) in the way that no-bid contracts are offered on cost+ deals to corporate buddies of the ruling elite. more and more Government services are privatised and run by corporate entities for a profit at the expense of the taxpayer. The state becomes owned lock, stock and barrel by the corporate oligarchy.

Islamic fundementalism does not support usury or big business, so it cannot be described in any way as fascism. Unless, that is, Bush was describing a form of islamic fundementalism supported and funded by the CIA and their corporate backers via there proxies in the Pakistani ISI? you know the fundementalists that the USA trained armed and funded to fight proxy wars against the soviets in Afghanistan and against the Serbs in Bosnia.

Is this Bush admitting that the current terror scares are corporately funded terror scares and that Al-Queda is actually a corporate entity created to give the massive US military machine an enemy worth fighting?

Remember that Al Queda is the name of the database that was set up to monitor the CIA/ISI assets of the Mujahadeen.

Excuse me, who are the terrorists bombing and beheading non Muslims all over the world. Muslim Fascists. You deny this?
It was refreshing to hear him actually identify the enemy for once. If all the good Muslims are offended, they should condemn the terrorists actions and work to fight them. They have their own people to blame, not Bush for telling it like it is.
In WWII, you wouldn't want us to say our "German" or "Japanese" enemies?
Grow up, you and your PC friends are part of the problem. Wake up and stop living in a phoney world.
You say, confuse, he did the opposite, he clearly defined who are enemy is.

It's in reference to the extremist Islamic people, to distinguish the terrorists in the Islamic community from those who are not terrorists.....or supporters of terrorism.

The only people that would be 'offended' are the radical ISLAMIC FASCISTS that think they are straping a bomb on themselves to walk into a pizza parlor all for the name of Allah....

Murtha's slanderer APOLGIZED for using the dishonest term "cut and run".Take of your cowboy hats and let some sun get on that thick head of yers!

we can cut our losses in Iraq NOW,or be driven out by the crossfire of a civil war.Which is a bigger disgrace? You guessed it,the one the conservative minority pigheadedly insists upon.

Bush also said his detractors "do not understand" the conflict in Iraq.Bush doesnt understand you just dont run into an Islamic nation and set up shop just any old time.

break it down

Islamic = being of ilslam

Fascists = one party state, (like Nazism) i.e. you not in the party, we kill you.

It is very simple, but hard liberal and democrats to comprehend.

We will spread our belief system b/c god wants us to. If you dn't like it, we kill you.

Our advantage is your ignorance, indifferance, and overall lack of intelligence.

Love,

Osamma
