Is it that much different from the mob? I'm just curious since two members from parliement (in Canada) want to take them off our banned terror list...

Just to reitirate: I don't want this to turn into a international debate; I'm just looking to understand the structure of it, and what makes it criminal or "resistance" as I think the other side would be called.

In this situation, it really depends on who you ask. I'm sure that doesn't help much, but while the US and Israel define Hezbollah as a terrorist orginization, the European Union does not. The definition of a terrorist orginization is extremely vague. It includes the act of using violence or the treat of violence to gain support for a political or ideological goal, but that applies to many organizations whose members aren't normally considered to be terrorists.

I wouldn't compare them to the mob, simply because a mob doesn't try to gain support politically. However, some of their methods do resemble that of a criminal orginization. Giving back to the neighborhood is actually something the mob does, if only to persuade the civilians to be loyal to them over the government.

I think the only reason someone would put them on a terrorist list is if they pose a direct threat to that country and their civilians. As far as canada goes...the only real reason they would have for banning hezbollah would be to support for the US war on terror. Hezbollah has never publically announced opposition to anyone besides Israel.

The Terrorists that bombed the sector replace middle and the Pentagon are conflict criminals. For some reason people even if hate on Bush even if he kept the unemployment less than 6% and each and every because of the particular undeniable reality that Obama took workplace it truly is been increasing. How might want to it truly is timber fault if his entire 2 words had a more beneficial effectual economic equipment than Obamas time in? Bush wasn't perfect...yet damn i'd instead have him than Obama. I type of wish Hilary Beat him. a minimum of she facilitates our troops and can want to not decrease as many reward as Obama has. The mob generally kills its own, while Hezbollah kills innocents. They come from another country to fight their "holy wars" and hide amongst civilians to do it. Lebanon is afraid of them and some Lebanese love them, but they kidnapped two Israeli soldiers in an unprovoked move. They are terrorists and putting them on or off a list doesn't change the color of their souls.

They would have taken the Mob off of a criminal list if the mob donated a novelty 5% of its cash to "Helping the community"...
