Why do most Republicans, Dubya and his GOP are against gay marriages? Is it a reason of morality, if it is, then you should abolish marriage all together because the divorce rate and family abuse in America isn't all that great. Is it a reason of religion, what happen diversity, should we expect Christianity to be forced on everyone from now on? Aren't gay Americans legal citizens that have a vote and their opinions should matter too, so why not let them get married, they aren't hurting you or the government, so what's the deal?

Most Americans profess to be Christian but you wouldn't know it by their lifestyles. Since most do claim to be Christian, homosexuality is just a little too much for them to handle. American Christians will tolerate sin but only to a certain extent.

(you will know them by their fruit)

I guess I am the only Republican who will try to give you an answer. I feel that marriage is between a man and a woman because that is what is says in the Bible. Marriage has always been a contract between men and women. Gays up until recently were vilified and cast out of society. A great many gay men of earlier eras got married and were closeted forever because of various laws and the moral codes of society. I think just the legal portion of marriage should be off limits to gays. If they want church services that is between them and their pastor. Legally they should be allowed civil unions to protect their rights as a couple.

Many Christian Repubs (and Dems too) believe it is against their religion to support gay marriage. A liberal would be open to other viewpoints right? Maybe not.
It is a ridiculous attempt of a comparison to bring up unsuccesful hetero marriages and try to compare them to hypothetical gay marriages. Thats off the point.
I disagree about gay marriage from a common sense perspective. Two men can't make a baby, not two women either.
Gay marriage for the sake of making gays happy is an incredible insult to my intellegience. Then you have to make polygamy legal. That will be next, they have as much a legal beef as the gays, neither have the law on their side for marriage.
A high percentage of gays are cool, educated decent people. But that is irrelevent to the debate.

Divorce rate is not that high among practicing Christians and people with good family values. Marriage is between a man and a woman and always has been. I would never recognize a gay couple as being married as it's against the santimony of marriage.

Most Republicans don't care one way or the other. Its a non-issue the left is trying to make political hay with.
People like you, who haven't been brought up to respect the office of the the President, people in positions of leadership, or the truth. If you radicals had to deal only with the facts, we'd never hear from you.

It's an affront to their religious ideals. A religion that used to allow homosexuals the same rights as heterosexuals up until around the 12th century. Then they started outlawing it. It's all about power.
