I swear i hear this excuse given by men and women to excuse men from being civilized. Doesn't it just reduce them to being more of an animal, unable to control thoughts & impulses. Or is it true they have not really evolved? I mean...all adults started as babies wearing diapers, but it doesn't mean we can keep wearing diapers when we are adults!

I often wondered that myself. Obviously the neocortex evolved physically after the limbic system. Basic primal urges still surge through the limbic system prior to review by the second brain (neocortex).

We have truly evolved, all of us. But we are still animals and some of us choose not to control thoughts and impulses.

Whether this is through blantant lack of regard for the rules of modern society or because some of us may truly not have as highly developed frontal lobes is another question.

It must be truth that a lie well said twice becomes a truth. How can you say men have not evolved? Reality is, it is not men per SE who want to act and be like this. They are only following what society and culture dictates. For example, do you think its fair for women to do all the house work, raise the kids and the man to sit in the couch and drink a beer? Or do you think it is fair for the man to work his butt off, and the woman not? Well these are just some instances of how culture affects the way you live. Maybe they dont agree with something and prefer to give an excuse, but the excuse doesn't have to ve valid.

A "self" is selfish by definition, and thus will use any and/or all means to put it"self" in a better position than other "selves". The solution is to lose said "self" by taking a good look at it and realizing it's nothing but a collection of thoughts. All other solutions are variations on the theme of selfishness, where all manner of posturing and otherwise pathetically disgusting tactics - preferably under the smokescreen of words to the contrary - are allowed. the truth is that we ARE cave men. There is no biological difference between them and us. That's where a lot of anxiety comes from, we are only cavemen expected to behave as gods.
