No, I think it's more likely that people that come to yahoo.answers make vague statements instead of asking questions. They also need help spelling. It's plain, not plane. In this situation, intelligent people have no choice but to ask, "what's your point?"

I don't know how old you are, but it seems most of the people on Y!A are young, inexperienced and not prepared yet to think outside the box. They firmly believe what they are taught to believe and never go beyond that.
Hopefully, as they grow, so will their ability to reason.

It's not indoctrination when that is the most appropriate response.
"What's your point" (or the clever variants above, kudos) are a shorthand way of saying -- "even if we assume you are correct, what value does your statement have or what kind of response are you looking for".
