If you could change your community, would you want it more liberal or conservative socially?

Neither one. For most of the people conservative is synonymous of intolerance and liberal is synonymous of having no moral values. Where I live it is so important how you look, how many plastic surgeries you had, what kind of car you drive and how many times your pictures has been in the Society section of the newspaper.
Does a place with spiritual people who do their best to practice acceptance and tolerance exist? There I will go to live.

I like my community. My community is pretty middle-of-the-road. There are a few who lean way to the left or the right, of course. But over all, it's pretty down-the-middle. Probably rather socially conservative, being a small town. Fiscally, though, more liberal. And like the rest of the country, a small majority seems to have voted for Bush but now a large majority thinks he's doing a pretty lousy job. And I get to say, "See! I told you not to vote for him!" Too bad that doesn't change the fact he's president.

In general, Iowa is too socially conservative for my tastes, but luckily, I live near Iowa City, one of the most liberal cities in the country.

Cuba is too conservative for my tastes.

If I could change my community, concealed carry for firearms would be as common a form of identification as a driver's license. Planned parenthood clninics would be on every corner, and job applications would not be allowed to ask for any addresses or phone numbers other than your own.

i think my community is just right. i live near savannah, GA, and it seems everyone has their own thing going on. there are conservatives and liberals and neither one tries to bash the other. we keep things simple and don't talk about politics much. i really like it that way.
however, i would say i would like it if people were more environmentally conscious... ;-)

I live in Boston which is majorly overly Liberal. They live in a left wing bubble and do not want nor try to understand anything beyond their viewpoint. As a registered independent, it bugs me that they claim to be open minded but in truth they are only open minded if you agree with them. I would like to see more people as independents. Also, that they would see that the way politics are in Boston, is not the way it is in this entire nation, and to respect peoples views and opinions.

I live in the Netherlands. Our society is okay, but our current government is too conservative. Luckily, they got booted out, and there will be new elections in November.

It is just about right on the liberal side of things. It is kind of a "middle of the road" town.
