I never had one dream job really... I kept hovering from architect and writer. I went to college for psychology - architecture of the mind...more mechanics of the mind - that's a good one. I'm interested in electronics.
But I ended up being a stockbroker, and I just resigned.
The happiest I ever was, was when I was working as a tech for the cable company, until I hurt both wrists. Working with disabled and retarded adults was fulfilling, however poorly paying it was.
And now, my plan, is to try to find a good firm and be a stockbroker again - for the prestige and money. Failing that, I will find something local to pay the bills and stay close to my gf and work on all the things I wrote and never tried to publish. Should she leave me, I may very well drive a truck - the long well-paying routes, and just wrack up the cash - I know just where to invest it too! If I could get my hands back, I'd go back to cable again in a heartbeat. It was alot of fun.

As a kid I wanted to be a fireman or a medical person - doctor, nurse, lab type. I spent 3 yrs in college studying those disciplines. I became an Air Traffic Controller and retired at 42. I guess I wanted to help ppl and I just ended up doing that exact thing, but in a different way.

Dreamjob was to be a teacher, and now I'm a boring bookkeeper. I can't get what I want until my kids are older.

I always wanted to drive race cars. I've been working on cars since I was old enough to hold a wrench. However, after highschool, we were a poor country family from Montana and couldn't afford to send me to college so I joined the military. I've been in 13 1/2 years now and am a Munitions System Specialist (I build and maintain the bombs and missiles that go on fighters and bombers). I'm also a college professor at Central Texas College and teach Automotive Technology courses.

I've always wanted to be a Registered Nurse. Currently, I work as a front desk clerk at a resort in the Keys. I'm very happy with my life as is, but I do plan on going back to school w/in the next year to get my nursing degree. It's something I've planned on doing since I can remember, my grandma (deceased) was a PN and told me to set my sights higher than that, so in rememberance of her, I will turn my dream into reality...

Dream Job: Teacher, then when I was 13 I realized that I couldn't stand kids. (I still can't 10 years later). Now, I'm a bookkeeper and LOVE it, not kids!! I worked in a grocery store in school, and you would not believe how many parents think that cashiers are babysitters! Keep up with your own kids, that is not what the cashiers are paid for. And if you do use them as babysitters, give them a tip!! (If they have to put up with your kids while you shop, they deserve something!!!)

I actually had a dream job ....working at Walt Disney World...it was fun, not like a job at all.
Many times I wish I hadn't quit to finish Jr. College, because an AA degree hasn't gotten me anywhere.
I just quit a job as a consumables expert, and am currently cleaning houses, businesses, etc.
Why? Because the pay is good and I can set my own hrs. ....plus I don't have to answer to a "chain of command".

ViciousOne, when I was a kid, I wanted to be an actress, but was made to be a nurse which I hated....by that I mean, my maternal parent wouldn't send me to school unless I went into the profession SHE wanted me to be in....now I look back....I had absolutely NO balls when I was 18 or I'd have told her to stuff it, worked my OWN way through school and became what I wanted and fyi, by the time I was 18, I wanted to major in Spanish and be a Spanish interpreter in a diplomatic capacity....I kick myself over and over again now for letting that ßίтСң dictate my life back then, because I "white-knuckled" nursed....I HATED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
